are approximately 80 Bahá'í in the region surrounding the
Lake of Zurich.
The communities of Zurich and Meilen
both have Spiritual Assemblies (nine-member local governing bodies elected
by individual Baha'i in their respective communities).
Commemoration of Bahá'í
Holy Days
The Bahá'í calendar consists of 19 months of 19 days each.
At the beginning of each month Bahá'í in local communities
gather to pray, consult on community affairs and socialize. We also commemorate
9 holy days during the year — these holy days
are associated with the lives of the Founders of the Faith and include
the Bahá'í New Year which is celebrated on
the 21st of March.
